Frank and Giovanni were very welcoming and did an amazing job accommodating our group for a 2yr old birthday. Great service, great vibes and we love the play area for little ones. Will definitely be back to try the pizza.

Great to find a Cafe that offers eclectic all day menu other than the usual stock standard cafe fare. The Brighton location has not loaded a premium to the prices either ! Was here with friends Sun for lunch recently - had Omelette du Bistro with chorizo & mushroom - omelette was rather dry but flavour good. Caps good too. Others enjoyed their order. Kid & dog friendly with a separate doggie & kiddie menu. Kids will find things to do here! Plenty of side street free parking. Just 3 mins walk to Bayside gallery.

It is my nature to go to cafes when they are quiet, but it was clear from the start that Timbuktu is very inclusive: community orientated, wheelchair accessible, and child friendly. Lovely staff who didn't mind a first timer asking lots of questions. I couldn't help it, I loved the relaxed friendly vibe. And on top of all that, a lovely brunch.

OK I'm glad we came here but I wouldn't say it's a must visit. I loved the decor, particularly the black and white checkerboard tiles and the outside seating area was very inviting. Husband had omelette which he said was just OK, I couldn't decide between lentil rice balls, nachos or pumpkin fritters but waitperson said they also did a vegetarian foccacia, which wasn't on menu, made to order, so I had this, which was nice, however it came out 10 mins after omelette. We also had coffees (flat white and soy lattes). Husband said his was average but my soy was really good so had another. This place is really geared for kids and has a cute little play area and lollies and probably best kids menu I've seen at any Cafe, but considering this place opposite a primary school, not surprising. But what I did notice was their lack of attention to detail, eg. Nail sticking out of wall near husband's head, QR code check-in at door, tap on basin which had been wrenched out of place, things like this demonstrate a carelessness that I don't like and it always makes me wonder, if like that front of house, what's it like out the back?
